- Your child should try on all ski equipment before taking to the slopes. The ski boots, suit, helmet and goggles should fit perfectly. You should also get the binding checked at a specialist shop.
- You should watch the weather report every morning and adjust your child’s clothing accordingly. It can get very cold and at higher altitudes is often several degrees colder than in Verbier. Your child should wear tights and thermal underwear. There is no need for thick woolen jumpers, it is better for your child to wear a fleece which will not restrict freedom of movement. Nor is it necessary for your child to wear two pairs of socks. You should ensure that trousers and boots are a snug fit to avoid snow entering the boots and your child getting damp feet .
Ski gloves: You should ensure that your child wears waterproof gloves which also cover part of the forearm so that no snow gets inside the gloves.
- Bad weather/sub-zero temperatures: Skiing can still be very enjoyable in falling snow and cold weather, but you should ensure that your child is warmly dressed for protection against the cold. Your child should wear a balaclava under his or her ski helmet to ensure optimal protection for the face and forehead. In case of sub-zero temperatures your child should wear mittens instead of gloves as these keep hands warmer.
- Your child must visit the toilet before every lesson to avoid any unpleasant incidents.
- Once your child has started a lesson please avoid lingering in the immediate vicinity as this will affect his or her behavior.
- Please arrive at the arranged meeting-point 15 minutes before the start of the lesson so that we can be the first on the slopes.
